can have more time having fun, working part time
or maybe even getting more sleep, while scoring
more "A"s!
That's called working smart and being effective.
The alpha brainwave pattern is often associated with what is known as "superlearning" - the ability to learn, process, store, and recall large amounts of information quickly and efficiently.
Slower still are the theta waves, produced during dreaming sleep, but also associated with "a-ha!" experiences and increased memory.
Theta is also the brain pattern of (among other things) increased creativity. It is the brain wave state in which Thomas Edison's greatest ideas came to him! Some call it being "in the zone!"
